The Highway CodeThe Highway Code is a document that outlines the rules of the road, and it applies to England, Wales and Scotland.
Any person that uses the roads in these countries should be familiar with the highway code, and that includes pedestrians.
The highway code contains a large range of sections, that cover rules for pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, and so on. It also tells you about general rules and techniques, how to use the road, driving in bad weather conditions.
Other sections deal with motorways, breakdowns and incidents and there are also useful PDF downloads that contain various different signals and road markings that you may encounter whilst driving on the roads.
In addition to the above, there are useful sections that talk about first aid on the road, how to maintain your vehicle and its safety and security. For many members and visitors to this Driving Theory Test Questions website, a particular section worth reading is the safety code for new drivers.
The full contents of the Highway Code are made available online, and it can also be purchased in the shops.
To view the highway code online you simply need to visit the Directgov website which is an official government website. You can view the highway code online Here.
